We will be reopening our outside space on 12th April. Our restaurant and inside bars will remain closed until 17th May. If you wish to book an outside table or garden booth, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Our tables are spaced apart to allow for social distancing, there are many hand sanitisation points in the pub and outside, we have a clear one way system, and a new app for ordering food and drink to your tables. We now operate table service only, no bar service. Our staff will wear face coverings, and we also ask you do too when entering the pub, and moving around the premises and using the toilets.
Built in 1862/1865, The Engineer was originally called “The Bird in Hand” but has since been known as The Engineer when the railway from London to Bedford was built in 1868.
With a lively and sociable atmosphere, The Engineer boasts a main bar area, dining room, family room suitable for children and dogs, sports bar and large garden, garden pods and covered smoking area.
We have a wide range of lagers, cask ales, ciders and craft beers on draught. With an extensive wine, gin and spirit list too, we’re sure you’ll find something just for you here at The Engineer.
We have an incredible menu full of lovely dishes, and also served homemade roasts every Sunday.
