Thank you all for your understanding and support, as always, stay safe and we’ll see you soon.
Welcome to The Engineer!
If you wish to book a table in the bar or garden, or a garden pod please call 01582 460478.
You can book online for a table in our RESTUARANT ONLY.
Tier 2 Guidelines:
- Inside tables must be single households only.
- Households can mix up to 6 people for outside bookings.
- All guests must order a substantial meal in order to consume alcohol.
We thank you for your continued support during these difficult times.
Changes are in place in line with the government Tier 2 rules, and we ask you are patient with our staff.
Our tables are spaced apart to allow for social distancing, there are many hand sanitisation points in the pub and outside, we have a clear one way system, and a new app for ordering food and drink to your tables. We now operate table service only, no bar service. Our staff will wear face coverings, and we also ask you do too when entering the pub, and moving around the premises and using the toilets.
Built in 1862/1865, The Engineer was originally called “The Bird in Hand” but has since been known as The Engineer when the railway from London to Bedford was built in 1868.
With a lively and sociable atmosphere, The Engineer boasts a main bar area, dining room, family room suitable for children and dogs, sports bar and large garden, garden pods and covered smoking area.
